Government Regulations

There are multiple regulations to consider when installing a Pool fence or balustrade, this is further complicated when choosing glass as there are specific regulations in regards to this material choice. This is where Zeus Fencings consultants can help simplify these matters, though please remember any work must be verified as compliant by an independent certifier or your local council. This process is to ensure the safety of children, family and friends while ensuring the quality of products and workmanship you receive is to applicable safety standards.

All Zeus Fencing Systems products come with a certificate of certification ensuring your products meet all relevant standards, so your independent certifier can provide necessary government approval for your safety and insurance obligations.

All Zeus Fencing Products & components are engineer designed & batch tested to ensure product quality. All products engineer tested to relevant standards in Australia, unlike some of our competitors where there is no engineer input and a simple prototype sample test is completed at the start of design. To confirm the product your purchasing is to the required standard ensure you have a certificate of compliance showing relevant batch testing data ( not singular prototype test ) company of manufacture (were and who produced it )and where it was certified (It is not uncommon for imported materials to have a forged or a false certificate ).

Please note there is currently a review of these laws in various states ,this is where Zeus Fencing can be of an advantage to yourself as we are updated on all changes before laws become effective ensuring you don't have to make costly changes soon after installation.

Please note it is the pool owners obligation to maintain a fence to standard after certification and therefore in your best interest to use a high quality product along with a quality installation. This ensures that you will not fail any future inspections governments may require ( most Australian State Governments are currently proposing yearly inspections to be standardized )

Gate Post Requirements on Frameless Glass Systems

Zeus Fencing Frameless Systems all come with Post for mounting Gate Hinges and Latches. This is in Conformance with Australian Standards, as a provision in the standard, in layman terms, states that one piece of Glass cannot be dependant on another. This is to stop a failure in one panel cascading to another and so on. While in the past this has been overlooked by some certifiers, we do not use this method due to the legal ramification to you (final responsibility rests on property owners to ensure compliant fencing) and to ourselves. You should also take into consideration that while your current certifier may be willing to overlook this the proposed yearly inspections will not, leading to expensive repairs and Fines.

While pool fencing Glass must be of a minimum of 1200mm in height Balustrade needs only be 1000mm from Floor height in most household applications.
